How to Change Your Password Remotely with VPN (NOT at a Tweet Garot office)
**Note: You will not be able to connect to the VPN if you are on the Tweet Garot Wi-Fi network. It is meant for use outside of the office only.
1. To start, you must make sure you are connected to the VPN. In the bottom left corner of the screen next to the start button, click on the Magnifying Glass. Note: If your password has already expired, please view the How to Change Your Password Via Mobile Device article.
2. A search box will pop up. In the search box, type VPN and then select the VPN Settings.
3. On the VPN Settings page, click on the VPN you use (name may vary).
4. Once you click on the VPN connection, disconnect from the VPN (it will be a button where the Remove is in the picture below but will say Disconnect). After you are disconnected select the Advanced Options button.
5. A connections properties page will display. Click the Clear sign-in info button.
6. In the top left corner of the same page, select the back arrow.
7. You can you click on the Connect button and it could prompt you to enter your username and password.
8. If your connection prompts for username (first initial, middle initial, first five of last name) and password, enter that information, putting TG\ in front of the username and using your old password. Select the Connect button at the bottom of the page and leave the Logon domain box empty. (Note, not everyone will see this exact page)
9. Once you are connected, you can change your password by pressing Ctrl-Alt-Del buttons, and then select Change a password.
10. After selecting to Change a password, you will be prompted to enter your Username, Current password, and your New password. Your username will be your first initial, middle initial, and then the first five letters of your last name. For example, for John Unknown Deere, their login would be judeere
11. Once you get the notification that your password has changed, you should log off your computer and log back in by right clicking on the start button, select Shut Down or sign out, then select Sign out. Note: Some computers will only have a Power option, select the best choice closest to Sign out and continue.
12. After you have Signed out, you will have successfully changed your password and you can then log back in using that new password.
*Note – you will have to update your password on any applications you are logged into on your mobile phone (Teams, Email, One Drive) to avoid being locked out
