How to Change File Types in Bluebeam
There are several different file types that can be created from a document within Bluebeam. The following goes through the most commonly used, being Exporting to Word and Excel.
1. Open Bluebeam with the file that you wish to export as a different file type. In this example, I opened a PDF.
2. Once the document is open, go to the top ribbon and click on File.
3. Towards the bottom of the dropdown for File, there should be an option to Export. Click Export.
4. A side pop-up shows various file types. You can select any of these that works for you. If you need to export to a Word Document, Excel Worksheet, or PowerPoint Presentation, please go to the next step.
5. Towards the bottom there should be options for Word Document, Excel Workbook, and PowerPoint Presentation. For each of these options when you click them, there will be options for the Entire Document or the Page Region. Most cases will need the Entire Document, but if you only need one section of a page, select Page Region and you will be able click and drag to cover what you would like.
Note: If you are zoomed in while you select this, you will only be able to select what is on the screen. It is best to plan to have everything you need for the section on the screen ahead of time, and then go through the process to get the Page Region needed.
6. Once you select which you need to export to, in this example I did a Word Document of the Entire Document, it will prompt you to save the item. You can rename the file, see the type of file it is, and then once it is where you want it, you can Save it. Then it will open that file in that new format you saved it in.
