Managing Teams Activity Notifications
This article will walk through how to alter the notification settings for Teams Activity to prevent getting updates from Viva/Big Blue, Calendar invites and meetings, as well as Mentions for Teams chats or groups.
1. Open Teams.
2. Click on the three dots next to your profile icon or initials in the upper right corner.
3. Select Settings.
4. Use the side organization to select Notifications and activity.
5. Scroll down until you reach the Chats and channels subsection. Find @Mentions section.
6. Toggle the On/Off button to ensure that this notification setting is turned Off.
Note: Doing this will turn off the notifications within individual chats or Teams groups that use @mentions, which can be in the form of everyone within the chat or one person specifically. This will not turn off notifications for messages in the chat, only the function that utilizes @FirstNameLastName mentions.
7. Scroll down to the subsection titled Calendar. Use the drop downs to modify the notification preferences for both New invites, updates, and cancellations as well as forwarding of meetings you created.
8. Scroll down to the bottom to the Apps subsection. Here you should see all the apps you have connected. Clicking on the down arrow on the right side will break down all the different notification types.
9. Toggle On/Off what you would like to get notified about. If you would like only certain notifications from an app, use the dropdown shown in the previous step and use the individual dropdown sections to choose what you would like to be notified about.
Everything is automatically saved so once you are done with the settings you can use Teams as normal.
