How to Access Manual VPN after Password Change
This is for Manual VPNs ONLY. It will be by the name of TG VPN or TG. Capitalization may vary.
1. Open the Start Menu at the bottom left side of your screen.
2. A search box will pop up. In the search box, type VPN and then select the VPN Settings.
3. On the VPN Settings page, click on TG VPN. Note: The capitalization may vary and appear to be tg or tg vpn.
4. Once you click on the VPN connection, select the Advanced Options button.
5. A Connection Properties page will display. Click the Edit button. If you do not see an edit button, you may be on the wrong VPN connection.
6. Once in the Edit VPN Connection window, scroll to find the Type of sign-in info drop down box. Select User name and password. Note: There will be some fields above these options, so you will have to scroll to see them, or they will be at the bottom of the window.
7. Underneath where you just selected will be a User name and Password box where you will type in your information. Be sure to put TG\ in front of your name as shown in the example below. Note: Your username will be your first initial, middle initial, and the first five letters of your last name.
8. For the Password box, make sure you erase what was previously there and enter your new password. Leave the box checked for Remember my sign-in info.
9. After everything has been entered, click Save.
10. You will be taken back to the Connection properties page where you should select the small back arrow in the upper left corner.
11. Then you should see a section for Related settings. Find Change adapter options and click it.
12. Find your VPN, which will be labeled TG, and right click on it to bring up this option menu. Select Properties.
13. Navigate to the Security tab at the top of the window and verify that the Data encryption drop down has Require encryption (disconnect if server declines) selected.
14. Under the Authentication section, make sure that the option for Allow these protocols is selected, and verify that the ONLY selected protocol is Unencrypted password (PAP).
15. After you complete that, your window should look like the image example below. Then click OK.
16. Now you should be back at the Network Connections window, where you should again right click on the TG VPN and select Connect / Disconnect. Note: You can also select Create Shortcut from this list and then click Yes when it asks if you would like it saved to your desktop for easier access to connect.
17. After clicking Connect / Disconnect in the Network Connections window, a pop up should show of your networks and the VPNs you have. Find your VPN (TG VPN), and you can then select it and press Connect.
You will not be able to connect to the VPN if you are at one of the Tweet/Garot offices.
