How to Secure Print on Konica-Minolta Devices
1. When your document is ready to print, click the Print button. Note: If you’re using a Microsoft product like Word or Excel, do NOT choose the Quick Print option because that will automatically print using your default settings.
2. After you’ve chosen your printer, click the Printer Properties link.
3. Once you’ve gotten in to the Printer Properties, click the Basic tab.
4. Click the dropdown box under Output Method and select Secure Print.
5. After selecting Secure Print, a User Settings window should pop up. Type in a Secure Print Document ID and Password. You’ll have to remember them or make note of them because you’ll need them when you go to the copier to print. Keep in mind that they ARE case sensitive, so if you use any capital letters, you’ll have to remember that. When you’re done entering them, click OK.
6. Click OK in the Printer Properties window.
7. Click Print to send the document to the printer. Remember: it is NOT going to print yet. It’s just going to sit in the Secure Print box on the copier.
8. When you’re ready to print the document, go to the copier and press the Menu button. Note: It’s not in the exact same location on every device, but it’s somewhere on the right side of the screen.
9. Tap the User Box button on the screen.
10. On the left side of the screen, tap System. Then tap the Secure Print button.
11. You will be prompted to enter the ID and Password that you created when you printed the file. Type them in on the screen (remember that it’s case sensitive) and tap the OK button in the bottom right corner.
12. Choose the document you want to print by tapping on it on the screen, then tap Print on the right side of the screen.
13. You will be given a list of options to modify your document before you print it. By default, it will print with the options you gave it at your computer, but you can modify them here if need be. You can also preview the document on-screen before printing it. When you’re happy with the options, press the Start button below the screen. Your document will then begin printing.
